Exterior – Chevrolet Dealer serving Hermitage PA

Both Chevrolet and Ford have opted for traditional pickup designs for their first-ever all-electric pickups, but they have gone different routes. With the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV, Chevrolet has opted for a new aesthetic that borrows elements from throughout its lineup but which is unique to it. With the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, on the other hand, Ford has opted to make it look as much as the standard F-150 as possible. Another way that Chevrolet and Ford are similar is that they have limited choice for the inaugural year to the crew cab. This is understandable since it is by far the most popular option. Ford has opted for a 5.5-foot bed. Chevrolet has opted for a 5.11-foot bed. But the Chevrolet bed also provides you more versatility due to a midgate and multifunction tailgate that open up many possibilities.

As with the standard models, both crew cabs will seat up to six people but up to five in their most comfortable configuration. The final interior specifications were not released for the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV as of this writing, but we do know that the front row spaciousness will be similar to the standard model and that the rear row will provide even more rear legroom. That is impressive when you consider that the Silverado 1500 already boasts one of the most spacious crew cabs in the class and ensures that the Silverado EV will be more spacious overall than the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning.

In terms of the infotainment technologies and the driver-assistance technologies, both automakers off similar standard and optional features. There are, however, two key areas where the Silverado stands out. One area is the advanced trailering technologies that Chevrolet offers, and optionally, that can include Super Cruise, which is a semiautonomous driving mode that integrates with it. The other area is charging. While we do not have all the details yet, we know the F-150 Lightning is limited to 150 kW fast charging. The Silverado EV, on the other hand, supports 350 kW fast charging, and that is a rather big difference.
