The team at the Taylor Auto Group is thrilled to announce the arrival of the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Although we are just a few years out from the launch of the current generation, Chevrolet has opted for some substantial updates. These include refined engines, increased towing and payload ratings, improved trailering technologies and a new Multi-Flex tailgate. A top competitor the Silverado 1500 is the 2021 Ram 1500. Both are best-sellers and excellent options, so let us see how they stack up against one another in a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs 2021 Ram 1500 comparison.
Your local Chevy dealership serving Pittsburgh Youngstown Akron and the surrounding areas offers the Silverado 1500 in eight trims ranging from the base WT to the range-topping High County. Three cab styles are available—single, double and crew—and three box sizes—a 69.92-inch short box, a 79.44-inch standard box and 98.18-inch long box. The single cab is limited to the WT trim level and the long bed. The double can be had in any trim up to the RST and comes with the standard bed, and the crew cab is available in any trim level and comes with your choice of the standard or short bed. The 2021 Ram 1500 is available in six core trim levels ranging from the base Tradesman to the range-topping Limited. Ram does not offer a single cab. Instead, it offers a quad cab, which is comparable to the Silverado double, and a crew cab, which is comparable to the Silverado crew. Only two bed options are available: a standard 76-inch box and a short 67-inch box. The quad cab comes with the standard bed, and as with the Silverado, the Ram 1500 crew cab is available with either the standard or short bed.
The Silverado 1500 single cab can seat up to three. Both the Silverado 1500 and Ram 1500 extended cabs can seat either five or six depending on the seating choice. The front of the Silverado offers more legroom across all three cabs, and tall drivers will certainly appreciate the additional 3 inches. In terms of the double and crew cabs, rear headroom and legroom are similar. The Ram crew does offer a couple more inches of legroom, but that does come at the expense of two inches up front.
